The massage therapist will incorporate a range of massage modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Structural Integration, Shiatsu, Acupressure, and Thai Massage. The massage may target specific areas for therapeutic results, or encompass whole-body wellness. Performed utilizing light organic oil or lotion.

Prenatal massage is performed primarily in a side-lying position, bolstered by pillows and props, utilizing Swedish massage techniques. Massage can improve overall prenatal health for many pregnant women, helping in hormone regulation, reduction of swelling, and improvement of nerve pain. Along with the guidance and advice of a prenatal care provider, massage therapy can be incorporated into routine prenatal care as an emotional and physical health supplement proven to improve pregnancy outcome and maternal health. Consult with your midwife or obstetrician before beginning any new therapeutic practice.

Had a baby in the last 90 days? This massage is ideal during the first 3-6 weeks postpartum for a vaginal birth or 4-8 weeks for a cesarean birth (please email us if you'd like to come in earlier). Postpartum massage aims to help in the healing process, aid in rest and stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, alleviate new mama pain and tension, and gently support the body’s transitions during this crucial recovery time in a woman’s health. Abdominal massage may also be incorporated to help gently realign organs and support digestion.

Our own custom Arnica and St. John’s Wort infused massage oil, along with the healing power of Cannabinoids (CBD - the non-psychoactive compounds of the cannabis plant), and essential oils of lavender, peppermint, and frankincense, help relieve pain, inflammation and tension.  You’ll also be treated to our special herbal heat packs to further melt muscle tension. This is a wonderful treatment for those dealing with injury, chronic pain or inflammation, arthritis, anxiety, or simply want to drop into deep relaxation and healing.

Aromatherapy restores mental and physical balance with a blend of organic essential oils massaged into the skin. Your therapist will assist you in selecting the aromatherapy blend for your needs, customizing your service. Upon leaving you will receive a bag of Epsom and Himalayan pink salts infused with your blend to continue the benefits in a bath or compress at home.

Cupping therapy involves the use of negative pressure to create a vacuum to pull connective tissues and fluids to the surface, which helps reduce muscle tension and adhesions, promotes emotional well-being by reducing anxiety, and supports immune function through detoxification. At Noe Valley Integrative Bodywork, we will be using Traditional cupping therapy, involving movement as well as stationary cupping, as an integrated supplement to our massage sessions.
